The GPTalk Mailing List

The GPTALK mailing list is where you can send and receive email related to Windows Group Policy. You must subscribe to the list to send and receive mail from the list. The purpose of the list is to provide a forum for asking and answering technical questions related to Group Policy. Any question is fair game as long as it is related to Windows Group Policy.  The Archives for this list can be found on this page.

Hi, trying to deploy quick time via GPSI and it just isn't installing, nothing in the event log.

So enabled debugging for the Software Installation CSE and this comes up

CSTORE: Client-side filter skipping package due to missing attribute localeID.

The MSI has the Property ProductLanguage 1033

Software installs quite happily via a script or running the MSI manually, but not via GPSI - English version of Windows is used.

Where can I go with this one?

Howdie!

Can you check whether the box "Ignore language when deploying this package"
is checked in the package's advanced options window?

The "ignore" setting is just for that package. Other package you deploy
won't be affected.
Other than that, you could, as shown in your error message, mess with
the
MSI's localeID. That would involve messing with the MSI package itself
which
requires a capable tool like Orca.
