We are successfully redirecting our My Documents folders via GPO but
have found that the My Music folder being moved at the same time is
creating havoc as far a free space goes on our server. Is it possible to
have the My Music folder and files remain on the local drive while
redirecting the My Documents folder?

Thanks for any help.

Jim-
A long time ago we had a thread on this and the bottom line was that in XP, there is no easy way to do this. Maybe the relevant parties who tried this will pipe in but that is what I recall from previous conversations. Of course, in Vista and Win7, Folder Redirection can accommodate different redirections for the sub-folders of My Docs.

Thanks Darren,

I am hoping that we finally take the plunge soon and upgrade to Win7 so
we have the benefit of the extra sub-folder redirections.

Jim, not to be the proverbial stick in the mud but... I had a client that
had a very close scare from the FCC and pirated music. Since the company
"knew" that the files existed and were being shared on "their" network. It
was almost a huge Resume Generating Event (RGE) for the entire IT staff.

Just something to take into consideration.
