| I'm looking for a tool that will create a nice document of the settings in a GPO. We have a GPO that applies to many departments that we are going to be making some changes to, and it would be nice if I could export the GPO settings into a nicely formatted word doc and then I could make notes in the word doc around what we are changing.
Any suggestions?

| Steve- You could use the GPMC Settings report and save the HTML to a file. Would that meet your requirements?

| You might run a report and Save to XML and then use Excel to open.... And edit

| In a perfect world what I would like is the GPMC settings report and be able to save it to a table based word doc.
Essentially I want to end up with the following.
Setting | Value | <An area for me to enter text about what I'm going to change and why>
I realize I may be asking too much, but outside of GPMC I haven't found anything that does any kind of GPO reporting of this kind.

| All,
I have a question. What would be willing to pay for this ability?

| Steve- Understood. Today, there is no easy way to do that without writing some code to either parse the HTML or XML.
As an aside, I am working on delivering this reporting capability via a product from my company - SDM Software. If you ping me off list, I can provide timeframes.

| Hi Steve,
Our Policy Management Software will drop the information into an excel spreadsheet for you. It's not perfect, but it does a pretty good job. It also is quite useful for comparing differences between GPO's or between archived versions of a GPO so that you can see what is different between your new and old settings. Feel free to contact me offline if you have questions.
If it is just a one off problem, you can download it and get a 30 day trial licence. If it is an ongoing issue you will need to buy the product.

| We use PolMan from SysProSoft to produce an Excel spreadsheet that documents all the settings within our policies. Very good tool and reasonably priced.
