| hi all,
i'm trying to disable the 'welcome to internet explorer 8' splash screen that appears on first use. anyway i've found the applicable gpo setting and set it in computer configuration on a gpo linked to an ou with computer objects. it seems to be working as expected.
however, when i reviewed the following page: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc985351.aspx, i noticed the particular setting i'm using is listed as being in the user scope only.

is this an error, or if not, why am i able to set it under computer configuration and is there any issue with applying it in the computer configuration section of a gpo linked to an ou full of computer objects?

| Daniel- I suspect it's a typo, which would not be the first time. If it appears under Computer Config and it works, then that is all the evidence you need. Frankly, many of the IE Admin Template settings are both per-computer and per-user.

| I use that setting at 'per computer' and it works flawlessly. I concur...must be a typo.
