It should be working if you enclose %username% in paths with quotation marks
( " ).

However, being a paranoic with this, I'd avoid spaces in sAMAccountnames
anyway.

Cheers,

Florian

Just wondering - does the %username% variable work OK when the username
contains spaces?

Hi Anth,

Another reader of this list recently commented on dynamically creating
mapped drives using the environment variable %username% (i.e.
z:\shares\%username%).

You can find this thread here:

Hopefully that'll help. I don't know how it'll sort the permissions out.

Andrew

Hi,

We have a script to map folders from a pre-created share from the server,
based on the user name.

like when a user, student900, logs in, an S drive is mapped and the S drive
will be the folder student900 located in a share in the server.
for student901, the mapped drive will be folder student901 from the server.

presently we are creating these folders one by one and assigning respective
permissions. Is there an easier method?

regards
Anth.
