Morning All, Quick question is there a group policy setting to allow Standard users to defrag their own machines? From experience only Admins can do this. Good trick Dave. Thanks! Curious if you have GP Preferences in the environment since you could create the Scheduled Task using that instead of a startup script. I have created .bat file with the following inside: schtasks.exe /create /SC WEEKLY /D WED /TN ScheduledDefrag /TR "\"C:\windows\system32\defrag.exe\"c: -f" /ST 20:00:00 /SD 11/06/2011 /RU SYSTEM This will create a task to run on wed nights, I also may go down the route of: schtasks.exe /create /SC ONCE /TN ScheduledDefrag /TR "\"C:\windows\system32\defrag.exe\"c: -f" /ST 20:00:00 /SD 11/06/2025 /RU SYSTEM Which put the task there as a run once 15 years in the future, users are able to click run and defrag their machines at will.
