Hi All,
I have a GPO that disables the firewall for special workstations. I
created it when Service Pack 2 was installed, 3/29/05. Both the Domain
and the Standard Profile settings are set to "Windows Firewall: Protect
all network connections" Disabled. The "Windows Firewall: Allow
authenticated IPSEC Bypass" is also Disabled. Recently some of the PCs
that filter this GPO have been experiencing pop-ups that indicate that
the firewall is enabled. When I bring up the Windows Firewall under
Control Panel "On" is selected and there are partial settings under the
Exceptions tab. Can anyone tell me what else I can do to make sure the
firewall is disabled? I tried disabling the "Windows Firewall/Internet
Connection Sharing (ICS)" service but then you cannot RDP into the PC.

This has just started since June 23rd. It could be a result of a patch
from Microsoft but that is not clearly evident when you read the doc on
the patches. Is there a regkey I can use that will force the firewall
to be disabled? Thanks for your help.
