| Hello,
I work in an educational environment. Many of the websites we visit are https:// sites. I have found that using IE 7.0 we are unable to visit those sites without the:
Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Security/Use SSL 2.0
Box checked.
I have not found a way either in User Configuration or Computer Configuration where I can control that function using Group Policy Management Console.
Since IE 7.0 has the SSL 2.0 boxed unchecked by default I was hoping there was a way in Group Policy to handle that.
Just wondering if anyone has faced this before.
Thanks,

You can use GP Preferences to set this option. Do you have that deployed?
If not, the next best thing will be a custom ADM.

| If you do a search for "Group Policy Preferences" at download.microsoft.com, you'll find a whitepaper overview and the downloads of the client pieces. Also, I wrote an overview whitepaper at www.gpoguy.com. Bottom line is that its something you have to install and plan for , but its not terribly hard to implement.

| Would it be a similar approach to enable TLS 1.0 as well? That was something I was going to look into shortly

| Yep. All of the options on the "Tools/Internet Options/Advanced" tab are available in GP Preferences (or certainly most of them).

| Would this also be the case if I wanted to enable the 'Links' toolbar in IE7 as it is greyed out and disabled on our domain machines browser. The only solution I could find was if I set the following reg key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] ; [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoBandCustomize"=dword:0
