The GPTalk Mailing List

The GPTALK mailing list is where you can send and receive email related to Windows Group Policy. You must subscribe to the list to send and receive mail from the list. This is a quick note re. WMI filter processing on 64-bit systems such as Windows 2008 R2. My (limited !) experience with WMI filter has exposed me to to the syntax that starts; select * from win32... Does this need to change to something like 'win64' for processing on 64-bit systems ? Thanks

No Win32_ is just the class name of the objects, use them as you always have. Not the best chosen names though, but we are all wise when looking at things with the facts on hand many years later My guess is that the name simply derived from name "Win32 API", that was used as the name for the Windows 32 bit platform API on the good old days.
