The GPTALK mailing list is where you can send and receive email related to Windows Group Policy. You must subscribe to the list to send and receive mail from the list. The purpose of the list is to provide a forum for asking and answering technical questions related to Group Policy. Any question is fair game as long as it is related to Windows Group Policy. In our cleaning up of our policies. We found that we had screen saver options in about 4 different policies...In our environment, we have XP SP3, Win7 Ent 32 & 64 Bit (only 2 SP1 machines currently) and a single Vista Laptop. The vista laptop user (my boss naturally) hit me with an email that he no longer had control over his screen saver. He does presentations/trainings and we gave him control over his so that he could take care of it as needed. We had 2 seperate policies one for "older OS" using a WMI filter to hit just the XP SP3 computers and one for the Windows 7 users also using a WMI filter to pull the version of the OS. This was working fine, till we disabled the Older OS policy and put it in the default domain policy. I then noticed that my machine no longer had a screensaver. At first we chalked this up to SP1 (I am the one testing it right now), but upon checking other Windows 7 machines, they had no screensaver either....it appears when looking at RSOP data for me, that the default domain policy was declared the winner over my Windows 7 policy for the screen saver options. It is set to be applied after the domain policy as it is first in the list. We can't see why? Any ideas? Sorry for the length, hope I gave enough info. Tim
