| Hi All,
When expanding GPO's on a remote DC I receive this error.
I then get a similar one referencing the ADMX file.
Can anyone shed some light on how to get the full path and how to review/correct the issue?
SONAR and GPOTOOL both come up as ok.
I cannot see any other FRS errors.
It happens on W2k8 Sp2
Domain is 2003
Thanks,
Rob Mariani

| Robert- What version of Windows are editing the GPO on? Is that the W2k8, SP2 machine? Also, are you using the central store? If so, have you updated the ADMX/L files to Win7/R2 versions of those files?

| Darren -
GPO editing tool is 6.0.0.1
Yes we are using a central store
And yes we have upgraded to Win7 & R2 admx/l in the central store (although it was a while back)
Can I just recopy & overwrite C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions from a 2008R2 to confirm they are the latest versions?

| Robert- My guess is that the issue is that Server 2008 can't handle something in that 2008-R2 template, syntax-wise. I have seen this intermittently in the past, though I have not found a MS support article about this in particular. The solution here is to either do your GP editing from a 2008-R2 machine or from a Win7 machine. I don't think re-copying the templates is the issue unless you truly are editing on R2 or Win7 already.

| Rob,
I had this issue when I manually copied admx and adml files to the central store. After the Sys Admin recopied them with his account everything was OK. Not sure what the connection is but it worked.
