Hi All,

Quick question that I have been unable to find confirmation on.

Will O2K7 admx templates apply to O2K3 workstation installations or do I
need to run both O2K7 & O2K3 templates in my GPs?

Unfortunately you have to have both. Even though many of the settings
are the same, there are different reg keys for each Office version. It
would be cool if you could set your templates up that way though. J

Office 2003 = [HKLM|HKCU]\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0

Office 2007 = [HKLM|HKCU]\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\12.0

Jamie Nelson answered the question I believe. I am resending it here for you from the list.

Jamie pretty much summed it up in his email, you will need to use both
ADM or ADMX files due to the different registry locations that different
versions of MS Office uses, as shown below.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0

HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0

HKLM SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\12.0

HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\12.0

I've done a quick test in a POC environment to see whether my Outlook
2007 picked up Policy settings from the Outlook 2003 ADMX that we're
using in production, and just as I had expected none of the changes that
I set were made to the client, this was just a quick test and not very
thorough but I just went with using the separate ADMX files for the
different versions of Office.
