The GPTALK mailing list is where you can send and receive email related to Windows Group Policy. You must subscribe to the list to send and receive mail from the list. The purpose of the list is to provide a forum for asking and answering technical questions related to Group Policy. Any question is fair game as long as it is related to Windows Group Policy. hi all, we're going to be upgrading from ie6 to ie8 so i'm looking at creating relevant gpo's. i'm not that familiar with admin templates, so i just wanted to ask a few questions. i've extracted the ie8 install and found inetres.admx which i believe is the ie8 admin template. now from what i understand you can only edit gpo's that use admx files with vista/2008? also, what is the correct procedure for implementing the admin template to an existing gpo used for ie6 settings? do i just edit the gpo, remove the current inetres admin template and use this new admx and configure my new settings? should the amended gpo be active before or after the ie8 rollout? our environment is a 2003 domain with xp clients. no vista nor 2008. i've tried to play around here with my home machine, but apparently gpmc.msc, gpedit.msc, etc. don't work under vista home premium. daniel.
