Darren, a great tool, that provides a simple solution for a very specific problem.

Future feature requests (It always feels strange to ask for more when it is free and I know that you never get to sleep since you work 24/7 :)):

· Both Cmdlets - Wildcard support for the Name parameters

· Get-SDMGPOVersion only - Support to get the user and computer version, i.e. split the physical GPO version number and add as extra properties for the respective part.

· Invoke-SDMTouchGPO only - Since the -user, -computer or -both switches are not mandatory (like an single mandatory param with an enum value or similar) it would be nice if it worked without specifying any of them and then default to something, -both would be the best option if you ask me.

· I would love to use the Cmdlets like this; Get-SDMGPOVersion -name *whateverpatternasnameformygpos* | Invoke-SDMTouchGPO or perhaps Get-SDMGPOVersion | Invoke-SDMTouchGPO to cause some serious work in a test lab :), so support for touchGP.GPODiffObject as param for the Invoke-SDMTouchGPO would be awesome. Obviously it can already be accomplished with some extra plumbing on the command line, by for example retrieving the name property and then pass that that on the pipeline and iterate over it. But as all IT pros, I like to have the tools I use do my work, so can spend my time drinking coffee and look busy... My favorite example would be Get-Process | Stop-Process when it is time to quit for the day and the Windows Shutdown button takes too long, (to make sure no one sues me, I want to add that you should not try that on for example your Exchange server :))

Darren, thanks for adding value to the GP world and remember the GP world does not expect the new version by noon tomorrow ;)

Thanks,
Thorbjörn Sjövold

Subject: RE: [gptalk] GPO Version and Touch

All-

I finally got around to finishing a GPO Touch Powershell cmdlet. I also added a 2nd cmdlet to the snap-in that gets GPO Version information---sorta like GPOTool.exe for Powershell.

You can download the snap-in on the GPOGUY.COM site at http://www.gpoguy.com/FreeTools/FreeToolsLibrary/tabid/67/agentType/View/PropertyID/95/Default.aspx

Follow the instructions on that page for installing it-I didn't go through the process of doing an installer this time.

Let me know if you find any bugs or have feature requests.

Thanks,

Darren

The snap-in comes with two cmdlets. Here's the get-help output for each:
