| I am facing lots of issue with this group policy.
I have Windows 2003 Native domain with Windows XP SP3 and Vista SP1 desktops.
We have applied screensaver policy \ 15 minutes timeout\ password protected as *domain policy*. (Administrative Template\Control Panel\Display) in users' settings.
But some of users with vista and XP are not getting locked after threshold time.
I have checked: 1. updated GP with gpupdate /force. 2. checked that the registry entries are there as specified in GP.
Can somebody help me in this...

| Do you also have a screensaver specified in the GPO? The users that aren't getting the policy may not have a screensaver set. These are the policies we set:
Policy Setting Password protect the screen saver Enabled Screen Saver Enabled Screen Saver executable name Enabled Screen Saver executable name logon.scr Screen Saver timeout Enabled Number of seconds to wait to enable the Screen Saver Seconds: 1800

| Hi Andy,
Assuming the policy that contains these settings is called “Domain Policy” – did you do a gpresult from these machines to see if the policy is applying to the USER context? Have you tried running the group policy results wizard to see how the policy would apply on these machines?

| Hi Derek,
I have checked with the GPresult for that particular user and getting result as policy is applied, Even i have checked with the registry keys stored in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Control Panel\Desktop and all settings are there as per policy.. But the screensaver is not executing on set interval...
It is happening with many users and making me frustrate what goes wrong...

Have you selected a particular *.scr file? If so it must be on the local machine. Try selecting something generic, like windows logo.
