Timo-
Yes it should apply to lower level objects, assuming a) you don't have Block Inheritance set on an OU or b) you don't have a filter of some kind in place on that GPO preventing users in lower level OUs from receiving it. What does GP Results say on those lower level users?

Subject: [gptalk] Internet Explorer Maintenance settings not inherited by lower level AD-objects

Hi,

I just noticed that proxy-settings I have defined under "User Configuration\Windows Settings\Internet Explorer Maintenance\Connection\Proxy Settings\" are not inherited by lower level AD objects, only the ones that are in the OU where I have linked the GPO in which I've defined the proxy-settings. Why is that? I thought that all the settings are inherited by all the lower level AD-objects if no opposite settings are defined (or inheritance modified some other way). This does not seem to apply to Internet Explorer Maintenance, why?
Anyway I think I'll try to do this with User Configuration\Preferences\Control Panel Settings\Internet Settings\

maybe that will work...
